Driving Directions

Disclaimer: The following directions to shows are believed to be correct, but may not take into account one-way streets, traffic congestion, road construction, etc. Check a road map and ask for directions if unsure--in some cases locals may be able to suggest a better route.

Cayuga Vault in Santa Cruz, CA

1. From Hwy-17 southbound or Hwy-1: take OCEAN STREET exit (Hwy-17 passes under Hwy-1 and becomes Ocean St.).
2. Drive south on OCEAN STREET -- go 0.8 mi.
3. Turn LEFT on SOQUEN AVENUE -- go 0.5 mi.
4. Cayuga Vault is on the RIGHT on the corner of Cayuga St. It's the white building that looks like a bank.

Breaking New Grounds in Redding, CA

east of downtown Redding mall in downtown Redding.

1. From Hwy 5, take exit #677/CYPRESS AVE.
2. Turn East on CYPRESS AVE -- go 1.5 mi.
3. Turn RIGHT on Pine St. -- go 0.1 mi.
4. Turn LEFT on YUBA ST -- park immediately. Coffeeshop is on your right.

Art of Everything in Cottage Grove, OR

From Hwy 5 NORTHBOUND (coming from Roseburg):

1. Take exit #174 onto E COTTAGE GROVE CONN toward COTTAGE GROVE - go 0.9 mi.
2. Continue on N GOSHEN-DIVIDE HWY - go 0.7 mi.
3. Turn RIGHT on E MAIN ST - go 0.2 mi.
4. Arrive at 513 E MAIN ST, COTTAGE GROVE, on the LEFT.

1. Take exit #174 onto E COTTAGE GROVE CONN toward COTTAGE GROVE - go 0.8 mi.
2. Continue on N GOSHEN-DIVIDE HWY - go 0.7 mi.
3. Turn RIGHT on E MAIN ST - go 0.2 mi.

1000 Indian Street in Bellingham, WA

1. From Hwy 5 NORTHBOUND, take exit #253 onto POTTER ST toward LAKEWAY DR. - go 0.2 mi.
2. Turn RIGHT on LINCOLN ST - go 0.1 mi.
3. Turn RIGHT on LAKEWAY DR - go 0.4 mi.
4. Bear RIGHT on E HOLLY ST - go 0.1 mi.
5. Turn LEFT on INDIAN ST - go 0.3 mi.
6. Arrive at 1000 INDIAN ST, BELLINGHAM, on the LEFT.

The FiddleHouse (Private Residence) in Ballard, WA

1. From downtown BALLARD (see directions for Mr. Spots Chai House, below). Go W on NW MARKET ST.,
2. Turn RIGHT on 24th AVENUE NW;
3. Turn LEFT on NW 65TH ST heading W toward Sunset Hill.
4. Turn RIGHT on NW 28TH ST.
5. House is located on the RIGHT between between cross streets NW 71st St. and NW 72nd St.
   

Mr. Spot's Chai House in Ballard, WA

The following route is a main arterial but changes names and winds about:

1. From HWY 5 take the 50th AVENUE exit. Go WEST on NE 50TH ST toward BALLARD -- go 0.3 mi.
2. NE 50TH ST. becomes N. 50TH ST. -- go 0.4 mi.
3. You will come to a 5-way intesection. Turn SLIGHTLY LEFT onto GREEN LAKE WAY N. heading SW -- go 0.4 mi.
4. Turn SLIGHTLY RIGHT onto N. 46TH ST. Cross HWY 99 and proceed down the hill.-- go 0.6 mi.
5. N 46TH ST. bends to the NW and becomes N. MARKET ST. heading NW -- go 0.5 mi.
6. N. MARKET ST. bends to the W and becomes NW. MARKET ST heading W -- go 1.0 mi.
7. Cross 20TH AVE, then at the next light turn SHARP LEFT onto LEARY AVE. NW. and park immediately.

The Red Radish, CA

From Hwy 101:

1. Take the CA-299 exit toward WEAVERVILLE/REDDING - go 5.4 mi.
2. Take the BLUE LAKE exit onto BLUE LAKE BLVD - go 0.6 mi.
3. Turn RIGHT on GREENWOOD RD - go 0.3 mi.
4. GREENWOOD RD becomes REDWOOD AVE - go 0.2 mi.
5. Turn LEFT on H ST - go < 0.1 mi.
6. Arrive at 140 H ST, BLUE LAKE, on the RIGHT.

Mateel Community Center in Redway, CA

From Hwy 101 NORTHBOUND:

1. Take ramp onto REDWOOD DR toward GARBERVILLE - go 3.1 mi.
2. Turn RIGHT on RUSK LN - go 0.1 mi.
3. Arrive at Mateel Community Center.

From Hwy 101 SOUTHBOUND:

1. Take ramp onto REDWOOD DR toward GARBERVILLE - go 2.1 mi.
2. Turn LEFT on RUSK LN - go 0.1 mi.
3. Arrive at Mateel Community Center.

Starry Plough in Berkeley, CA

1. From I-580 N or S, take CA-24 EAST exit onto 52nd St.
2. Take 53 St. toward 51st Street -- go 1.3 miles.
3. Turn on SHATTUCK AVE -- go 1.0 mile.
4. Starry Plough is on the right on corner of Prince St.

The Coffee Gallery in Altadena, CA

1. From the 210 Freeway, take the Lake Blvd. turnoff.
2. Go North (toward the mountains) 2 miles.
3. You will pass New York Drive. Go two more blocks and you are at 2029 Lake St., a two story building.
4. PLEASE PARK only on Lake or in the lot of Ronnie's Service Station. The Backstage show rooom is in the BACK.

The Fold at the Silverlake Lounge in Silverlake, CA

1. From 101 Fwy, take Silverlake Blvd exit.
2. Go north on Silverlake Blvd for 1 mile to Parkman Ave.

The Delta of Venus in Davis, CA

1. From Hwy 80 (72), take the RICHARDS BLVD exit.
2. Head West on RICHARD BLVD towards downtown & UC Davis -- go 0.5 mi.
3. Turn LEFT on 1ST ST. -- go 0.2 mi.
4. Turn RIGHT on B ST. -- go 0.1.
5. Delta of Venus is on your RIGHT, near Rice Lane.

Fishtank in Oakland, CA

3405 Piemont Avenue, Oakland, CA.
between MacArthur and Broadway in Oakland. (There is a brick facade, it looks like a dentist office or perhaps a bike shop).

How to get to the FISHTANK from San Francisco:

Take Bay Bridge east, get into 2nd lane from the right. STAY IN THAT LANE UNTIL OUR EXIT! This will bring you onto 580, past a bunch of freeway connection ramps (80, 24, 980). Ignore them all! Take the Broadway Auto Row/Webster exit (first street level exit off of 580). Stay to the left (DON'T take the Webster part of the exit.) This will force you to turn right onto Broadway. Immediately get into the left lane, take the first, very sharp left (almost a U-Turn) onto Piedmont. We are the 2nd or 3rd house on the left (depending on how you count them).

How to get to THE FISHTANK from Hayward/Livermore/South Oakland:

From 580 north, take the Harrison/MacArthur exit. There are several exits that say "MacArthur Blvd"; wait for the one that says "Harrison". Go straight on MacAurther Blvd (bear right at the "Y") till Piedmont. (There's a Shell station on your right). Turn left on Piedmont. The FISHTANK is a couple of blocks down on the right.

How to get t the FISHTANK from BART:

Go to the MacArthur BART station. Go up MacArthur East, away from San Francisco, towards the hills! Go maybe 8 blocks, then take a right on Piedmont, FISHTANK is on your right in about three blocks. NOTE: MacArthur BART lets you out on 40th, NOT MacArthur, which is one block or so SOUTH of 40th. 40th will work too, but it's a little confusing as it skoots to the left before it hits Piedmont. The key is, get yer ass to Piedmont Ave. and TURN RIGHT!

The Ugly Mug in Santa Cruz, CA

The Ugly Mug is located at 4640 Soquel Drive in the small town of Soquel, approximately 4 miles south of Santa Cruz, CA.

From Santa Cruz, take Highway 1 south. Exit at Bay Avenue/Porter Street offramp. Turn LEFT on Porter Street and drive under the freeway. Continue one quarter mile to intersection with Soquel Drive. The Ugly Mug is on the corner on your left. Free parking is available in back--turn left onto Soquel Drive and then turn right after one block.
